This course of study is designed around research with a total of 120 ECTS-Points, 20 ECTS-points have to be acquired through an additional subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Details: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will have to take the following modules:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Module T &#8220;Sociological Theory&#8221; (10 ECTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M_Quant &#8220;Quantitative Methods&#8221; (5 ECTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M_Qual &#8220;Qualitative Methods&#8221; (5 ECTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FS_I &#8220;Research Seminar I&#8221; (10 ECTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FS_II &#8220;Research Seminar II&#8221; (10 ECTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modules FP_I-III &#8220;Research Profile I-III&#8221; (10 ECTS each)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional Studies I and II (10 ECTS each)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Module MA &#8220;Masters Thesis&#8221; (30 ECTS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An individual focus point of research is possible to choose three modules in the research fields <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soziologie.phil.fau.de\/en\/studium\/studiengaenge\/arbeitsbereiche\/arbeit-und-organisation\/\">work and organisation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soziologie.phil.fau.de\/en\/studium\/studiengaenge\/arbeitsbereiche\/bildung-und-lebenslauf\/\">education and course of life<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soziologie.phil.fau.de\/en\/studium\/studiengaenge\/arbeitsbereiche\/kultur-und-kommunikation\/\">culture and communication<\/a> as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soziologie.phil.fau.de\/en\/studium\/studiengaenge\/arbeitsbereiche\/vergleichende-gesellschaftsanalyse\/\">comparative social analysis<\/a>. These will counted as the Module &#8220;Research Profile I-III&#8221;. They usually consist of one of the research fields or multiple of them. Two out of the three modules have the possibility to be swapped for an &#8220;Integrated Masters Course&#8221; (IMK). These consist of an Advanced Seminar (HS) chosen from the fields of interest at the institute als well as one of the Post-Graduate Seminar (OS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In your second or their semester one of the modules FP_I-III can be swapped for an additional masters cours or an integrated masters course concerning the topic of sociological theories with 10 ECTS-points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The additional studies can be part of the teaching offered by the masters social economy: &#8220;empirical economics of sociolohy&#8221;, &#8220;educational sociology&#8221; and &#8220;sociology of health&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional information can be accessed with the help of the current examination regulations of the masters of sociology and the module handbook.
