What occupational fields can I enter after studying sociology?

Practical mediation of knowledge, application of what you have learned, key qualifications spanning more than just sociology and an internship can open many doors to finding employment after finishing your studies. In addition to that you are able to choose a personal field of interest while you follow your studies, this opens the possibility to qualify for many different jobs. Possible ones can be, for example: working for organisations, in HR, career counseling and further career training, market and opinion research, marketing and advertising, the statistical division of companies and public authorities, journalism. Sociologists are also needed in social planning (cities, youth, help for the elderly), gender equality, education of adults and for the work of political parties, associations and politicians.

Our masters degree focuses on research. Our graduates will be able to empirically conduct research and provide a practical use for it. This is essential to starting in the field of social research but offers many opportunities in other companies and is very much sought after.

Thinking about what you want to do after graduation can be a project to bear in mind while studying and there is help that can be offered from our institute! Please don’t hestitate to ask! This includes your lecturers who can provide helpful insights and tips to find your way!
