While studying sociology in Bamberg and Constanze I have put my focus on topics specifically looking at sociology of media. While my studies in Bamberg focused on quantitative research, starting in Constance shifted my focus on sociology of labour, especially while working on my masters’ thesis. After finishing my degree I worked as project manager in a small IT-Startup. My tasks included eventmanagement, marketing and the implementation of agile projectmanagement (Scrum).
During this time I became fascinated with digitalisation and how its chaning the world of labour. I am especially interest if and how the changing labour market can find agreement with the value systems of younger generations. This includes questions about the display of labour and the role employees play with their skills and knowledge.
As part of the project “Gute agile Projektarbeit in der digitalisierten Welt” (“Good agile project labour inside of the digitalised world”), diGAP (BMBF/EFS) for short, I was able to connect my practical experiences with qualitative research. I was able to take a closer look at agility in the context of engineering through the project “Menschenorientierte Gestaltung komplexer System of Systems” (“Human oriented design of complex systems of systems), MoSyS (BMBF) for short. Currently I am supporting the coordination of the DFG main focus program “Digitalisierung der Arbeitswelten” (“Digitalisation of labour worlds”).
While teaching I am focusing my research on technologies of artificial intelligence as well as how they are applied in different fields of work. On a mirco level I am taking a closer look at the developements of new and fast chaning world of labour and its influence on the individual as well as gender perspectives in the context of work.
