Electives

You will have to take an elective resulting in 10 ECTS points while studying the one-subject bachelors. There are agreements between the subjects education, political sciences, philosophy, theatre- and media-studies, psychology and economics to offer certain modules. If you want to choose another subject please talk to the study advisory before you start your elective so that the courses can be credited.

Studying economics you can choose between two modules:

  • Busniess Administration: Business Studies I (winter semester) and Business Studies II (summer semester) (5 ECTS each)
  • Economics: Introduction into economics (winter semester, mandatory, 5 ECTS) and you can choose between the lectures Macroeconomics or Microeconomics

Both modules have to be started during the winter semester

Studying Theatre and Media Studies you can take the foundational module (1 lecture, 1 excercise=5ECTS) and either “Basismodul Theaterwissenschaft” or “Basismodul Medienwissenschaft” (2 seminars each=5 ECTS)

The Modules take only one semester each and are only offered during the winter semester!

Psychology offers the module “Psychology for Non-Psychologists”.

The subject Political Science offers the following modules:

  • Pol 2 (Political Theory and History of Ideas)
  • Pol 3 (Political Systems)
  • Pol 4 (International Relationships)
  • Pol 5 (Non-European Regions)

The modules each consist of two lectures with 2,5 ECTS each and a seminar with 5ECTS

The base module for philosophy is recommended for students wanting to take this elective. It consists of a historic-systematic introduction (4 ECTS) and a seminar based on texts concerning the subject of theoretical or practical philosophy (6 ECTS).

Basismodul_Philosophie

The following modules are offered if you want to take education as your elective:

  • Module 1: Introduction into education (1 lecture, 1 seminar)
  • Module 2: Fundation of Education (2 seminars)
  • Module 3: Historical and systematic Fundations of education (2 seminars)

The master studies Standards of Decision Making Across Cultures offered in english can be taken as well if you contact the corresponding professors 

The studies “Digital Humanities” offer the module “IT-Tools” starting in the winter semester and continuing in the summer.
