Electives offer the possibility to students to put a more concentrated focus on their studies and offer the possibility of deepen their knowledge on their field of interest. Also with regard to the writing of the final thesis. The electives consist of two seminars offered by the institute of sociology. You can combine them however you like as long as they result in at least 10 ECTS-Points. This includes the combination of, for example, two seminars, one seminar and one advanced seminar or two advanced seminars. But this module will only result in a total of 10 ECTS-Points no matter the combination.
The insitute recommends the combination of a upper seminar (2,5 ECTS) with a related advanced seminar (7,5 ECTS). This combination should only be chosen at the end of your studies so that you can present and discuss your final thesis as part of the upper seminar.
