Part-Time-Studies
Studying part-time
The philosophical faculty at FAU offers many of their masters degrees as part-time study programs. This makes it possible to accomplish the course either completely or partially with a generally lesser load. The contents of the course stay the same, only a reduction of time spend on coursework during each semester is achieved through this. The course itself will take longer to finish.
Students can react on changes in their personal life by switching inbetween full- or part-time at the start of each winter semester. This offers them a huge flexibility.
This design primarily thinks of students who have to take care of other people, students with health or financial problems and many more. Part-time study is not the same as an evening or weekend study program. Working people can benefit from this style of study if they have flexible work hours that make it possible to take part in lectures and teaching on about two days each week. This offer is open to all interested students and students already studying at the faculty.
Studying part-time means stretching the masters course from 4 semesters to 8 semesters.
The module handbook for the masters of sociology shows the recommended course of study when studying part-time. If you have any questions please refer to the study advisory of the institute or the Study-Service Center of the philosophical faculty.
